Durarara!! – 11

Isaac and Miria in Durarara!!?! OMG! LULZ!!! I love them sooooooooooo much (but they’re second after Claire).

Also… …

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!! Mikado created Dollars?!?!?!?! OMFG!!! That is one revelation I won’t have expected. It was awesome how quickly he piece all the parts together to deduce that Harima Mika has been killed and her head replaced, and how he gathered everyone together. The moment when all the grey unrelated people convert into coloured relevant people is simply amazing. Mikado can indeed be influential when he chooses to use that power. I mean, people usually won’t do good things no matter what. It feels like Higashi no Eden all over again, when all the NEETS gathered together.

Likewise, Celty looks like a dark lord reigning over the city of Ikebukuro towards the ending. It was awesome how she finally came to acknowledge that she still exists even without her head. FFFFFFFFFF, does this mean she is going to accept Shinra’s proposal?!

I wonder if “Celty” is going to jump down and stop psycho Seiji next week. I don’t see how this crazy yandere can kill Mikado off.

PS: Ippen shinde miru?

Baka To Test To Shoukanjuu 11

Class F is kicking ass and taking names! Nemoto, go to your room!!

Class F has begun their campaign against the rest of the school by challenging Class D and its representative Hiraga Genji.  Knowing that just sending Himeji alone in wont work against Class D, Yuuji comes up with a battle plan involving a blitzkrieg attack opening up a path for Himeji.

I love this whole top down map they used throughout the episode for the battles. It gave it a whole RPG-strategy video game feel. I also loved all the battle strategy talk, even though it was a bit cliche.

As the battle begins, Akihisa is sent out to the front lines as the “commander”.

LOL. Metal Gear Parody AND Akihsa camo FAIL!!

Akihisas initial charge was more of a scouting report for Yuuji. Yuuji asks Akihisa who was on the front lines for Class D, but when Yuuji asks Voyeur for the scouting report, there seems to be an issue with it.

Looks like Voyeur is only good at female reconnaissance!

The battle rages on according to plan for the most part. Minami is sent in to spearhead the charge with her high math scores, but Class D counters by capturing their math teacher and bringing in a classical literature teacher, which happens to be Minamis worst subject. To counter this, Sugawa (of Class F of course) makes an announcement for a certain math teacher: Funakoshi-Sensei. 45. Single. (Koigakubo Yuri of ToraDora comes to mind when I heard this!)

LOL, poor Akihisa, always the bait. This part could have been a whole lot funnier had they actually given a face and voice to Funakoshi-Sensei. Imagine how funny it would have been with Funakoshi chasing Akihisa down the hallways asking for some “love”!!

Thanks to Funakoshi-Senseis presence on the battlefield, Minami is back to full strength and Class F is able to punch a lane for Himeji to storm Class Ds stronghold. However, Class D students manage to sneak attack into Class F and are about to take out Yuuji believing his test scores suck…

With that, Himeji takes out Genji with ease, and Class D is defeated.
Yuuji however elects not to take over Class Ds room, stating that he’s planting the seeds for future battles. After the victory, Yuuji declares that Class B and the snake Nemoto are their next targets. After a strategy meeting though, Yuuji and the rest return to find that Class F has been trashed:

Yuuji knows that it was Nemoto who did this to prevent them from replenishing their HPs. They also notice that Nemoto has destroyed their prized possessions (NO!! Not Voyeurs Bust-Size survey!!!). Himeji also notices that her love letter to Akihisa is missing.

Battle day. The battle between Class F and Class B begins. Class B initially proves too strong to fight head to head, so Yuuji delivers some insurance to Akihisa.

Akihisas revelation that Nemoto has a girlfriend (the rep for Class C, which was pointed out earlier in the episode) causes the men of Class F to transformer into the hooded FFF. When in FFF form, the enraged students are able to perform Kamikaze attacks, taking out themselves along with Class Bs defenses. Nemoto is becoming worried, so he pays Himeji a visit as insurance.

Nemoto reveals that he has Himejis love-letter, and that if she wants it back, she must make sure that Class F loses. However, someone overhears this exchange.

An enraged Akihisa asks Yuuji to keep Himeji out of this battle.Yuuji agrees, but states that Akihisa will have to take over her role as point. Akhisa agrees, and Yuuji comes up with a plan to take down Nemoto.

The plan is to have Akihisa use his special summon to smash through the wall from Class D into Class B.

After having his GAR moment, Akihisa smashes through the wall, which catches Nemoto off guard, but Nemoto is ready for a surprise attack.

At that moment, the real trap is sprung. With Nemoto concentrating on Akihisa, Voyeur and Ironman burst through the window behind Nemoto. And because Ironman is a special teacher who can permit battles in any subject, Voyeur declares a Health battle!

Pervy-Ninja WINS!!!

After the momentous victory, Yuuji offers to spare taking away Class Bs room, only if they comply with his request:

Nemoto resists. But the rest of Class B don’t, and force Nemoto to wear the dress.

Later on the rooftop, Akihisa meets with Himeji to return her love-letter which was recovered from Nemoto. However Himeji rips it up, saying that she doesn’t need to relay on it anymore. And while she isn’t ready to deliver the message in the letter yet, she is ready to take the next step…

Yeah I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but in Japan calling someone by their first name is SERIOUS BUSINESS.

Elsewhere on the roof, Yuuji is discussing his reasons for going on the war-trail with Shouko, and once again states his intentions to come after Class A.

Ah, even if it wasn’t all lovey-dovey, this was a nice moment between the ONLY established couple of the series. This is also probably the only time they’ve had a normal conversation in the series (i.e. with out Shouko poking him in the eyes or tazering him!).

Well that was certainly an action packed episode, and a nice change of pace from the regular school-comedy we’ve become used to from this series. Of course, all the battles means that a lot of the running gags were put on the back burner, which is nice as well. You know, it’s been so long since we’ve had proper battles (and not just using their summons to sneak peaks in the girls shower….and failing) that I almost forgot about that aspect of this series. I’ve read that the battles are much more prominent in the novel, so it’s nice that some of it is being shown in the anime.
On that subject, I’ve been reading a lot of people complaining about how this anime is not faithful to the novels. And while I see their point, I’d like to issue this statement to them: STFU! If you want the novels, go read the novels! Seriously, if there’s one thing that really grinds my gears as an anime fan, its people who bitch and moan about anime adaptions not being faithful to the source material (i.e. novels/manga). I could elaborate on and on about this, but I’ll get back to the episode (and maybe save it for a separate post? Stay tuned!).

Anyway, it looks like this anime is ready to wrap up with a final battle begin Class A and Class F. Here’s hoping that it goes off with a BANG! And also here’s hoping that they pick up another season of this anime! I know the running-gags are old to some people, but I personally would love at least 13 more episodes! If anything, they can win back those complainers by emphasizing more on the battles (although if there is a second season, I doubt that’d be the case…).

Oh yeah, and before I forget, here’s some Minami-service:

If she’s got no tits, show off the booty!!
