It’s hard to describe Fairy Tail for me, who once fansubbed Groove Adventure Rave and own the entire Rave manga collection. The reason being is there’s so much similarities (obviously same mangaka drew them) to the point of FT feeling like an omake of Rave. The mangaka probably intentionally did this though. For example Plue is back in FT, the main protagonist’s name is “Natsu” (Summer) while Rave’s was “Haru” (Spring). In Rave the girl was “Elie” while here it’s “Lucy”. One of the guys in the OP looks identical to Musica from Rave as well. This is kind of why I stopped reading the manga past the first few chapters because I felt like I was reading Rave but not reading it at the same time.
Rave was also done by Studio Deen while this was done by Satellite. I am getting fears of Shugo Chara fillers as well as the hideous animation that popped up in Kamichama Karin. When the Ed theme came up FT I thought I was watching some kind of shoujo anime lol vs how it was all serious and stuff in Rave. Ahh anyway I can’t help to compare the two because there’s so many similarities. While I gave up on the manga I’m hoping to try to get into the anime which maybe will get me to pick up the manga once more. I’m not sure how I feel about hearing Hirano Aya’s squeeks vs Kawasumi Ayako’s but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
