Naruto Ch. 468
Got my weekly fix of the ever interesting Naruto manga today. The ‘Sasuke vs. the 5 Kages’ is officially done, and after Madara explained his plan for (weird) world domination, the Kages were left in the aftermath to devise a plan to combat the evil, but weakened, Uchiha. They reached an agreement to form a shinobi alliance between all the villages, track down the Hachibi and Kyuubi (Naruto, himself), and keep them off the battlefield so Madara won’t be able to take advantage of their presence, and capture them. After the huddle and break, the scene zooms to Killer Bee, the Hachibi, perfecting his rapping/singing with a forest dwelling teacher. On cue to break up the peace, the ridiculously powerful Hoshigake Kisame shows up to fight and capture Killer Bee. We’ve all been waiting on this for a WHILE. Next Friday, I’m ready for you!!!!
Naruto Shippuuden Ep. 131
Now this s**t was ILL. I’m seriously still trippin off this. In this episode, the anime confrontation of Jiraiya and Pain finally occurs, and it is well worth the wait.
The first thing to take away from this episode is the superb animation quality. It’s done by the studio that typically does the important fight episodes for Naruto, and they deliver, as usual. The opening scenes showcasing the battle between one of Jiraiya’s toad summons, Gamaken, and the replicating Cerberus summoned by Pain … it’s incredible. Watching Jiraiya and his toad acrobatically glide up and down the walls of Amegakure, while fighting off the rabid animals, was straight up legit.
And of course, Jiraiya summons Ma and Pa Toad and enters Sage Mode for the first time in live action. Ridiculous. The quick 1,2 combo Ma and Pa put on Pain’s chameleon summon perfectly reflected the scene from the manga … well, Pa used a stream of water to cut the animal in half, instead of a sword, but I won’t complain …
The point is, it is a great Naruto Friday! Actually, I just found out the manga’s taking a break next week, but I’ll be here to look over the episode. Eat some ramen and enjoy your life.
