So a fairly bog-standard episode here, but is that really a bad thing? The episode is about an all out scavenger hunt using test questions to discover the coordinates. Seriously, why could my high school be this fun?? Of course, all the students running around give us the chance for craziness!
Tsuchiya going SEED mode in the girls locker room. Seriously, I can’t remember how much times this gag has been used, but me being a former Gundam SEED fan, I never grow tired of it! The situation here is that seeing all the girls garments in the lockers causes Tsuchiya to go all out, but he ultimately passes out from blood lose. Seriously, how is he still alive at the rate his nose bleeds!?

I also love how Tsuchiya’s camera always goes limp when he is unamused!
A couples ticket to an amusement park. Perfect for Yuuji and Shouko! Well, not so much Yuuji!

However, the “star” of this episode was clearly Hideyoshi!

So when Yuuji turns down the amusement park tickets, Akihisa asks Hideyoshi. He then comes up with the stupid idea that confessing under the sacred tree (which he believes is Hideyoshi, it has something to do with the kanji) brings you eternal blessings…..
And of course, the Hideyoshi-fest doesn’t end there…
...he's also promptly stripped out of it!
So I’m convinced that the producers of this show are just trying to sway the sexual orientations of all the weak-heart otaku out there! But it’s not working on me. NO NO, must resist the trap!!
AH, much better! Yuuko FTW! I’m so glad we have Yuuko in this show!
Overall, a fun episode. I’m really loving all the running gags in this show: Hideyoshi’s TRAP, Minami’s one sided yuri-love, Shouko, etc. Many may think that this stuff has all been done before, but I say so what? If it ain’t broke, why fix it? I mean it’s not like the production value is lacking, the show still is animated really well! Overall, I think Baka Test is exactly the type of anime I’m into now days. The right amount of comedy: a lot of it! Yes, I wish there were more romance, but honestly, I think this type of show does well without it. There’s just so many great characters that it keeps me pulled in.
Anyway, beach episode next week! Oh my!
