I was browsing around the web the other day and happened upon a site that I thought I’d post up on here.
Figure.fm
It’s an online community for people to post up photos, reviews and discussions of Japanese figures, dolls, models and other such various toys. It’s a great site for inspiration for shots, or if your just bored and want something to look at when your bored.
The site features anything from Nendoroid to Gundams, Dollfies to Figmas. It pretty much caters exclusively to the Japanese toy market. There is a category for Transformers but when I click it it seems there isn’t anything to be found. Perhaps users haven’t uploading anything on that subject yet.
Like I’ve mentioned, some of the users post reviews, which is help full when your thinking about buying a new figure but aren’t quite sure if you want it or not. However, most of the reviews I’ve seen are not all that thorough (but I haven’t seen a lot of ‘em yet), but they do offer lots of good photos of their subject, which seems to be the main focus of the site. I just found this site recently and already think it’s something people should check out.
If you’re like me and need a bit of variety here’s another site you may want to visit.
JoeDios.com
This site is a complete contrast to the other site I mentioned and features 3 3/4 G.I. Joe figures, customs, but above all dioramas.
It’s another great community site to browse photos, look at dios, or to get inspirations for customs. This site also offers up news, reviews, template files, a forum … Actually now that I think about it this site has a lot to offer. It’s awesome and I recommend it.
On both these sites users can post photos and other users give their comments and critiques. I personally don’t have accounts on either of the sites, but if it’s something you’re into, then you may want to join up on one of these communities.
