Video Games | Super Street Fighter IV | Animated Juri Trailer XBox 360 | Playstation 3 | Nintendo WiiLooks like Capcom went mental with the anime production this time round, probably because of the earnings received from the first game, this movie is going to be produced by the people who made Afro Samurai, Strike Witches, Gantz, Hellsing, Rosario Vampire, Chrono Crusade and numerous others. Gonzo are often known for their conspicuous dark tones in both display and narrative, though they cover a broad spectrum of genres and are never exclusive to one style, genres could range from 100% moe-fan services to ludicrous comedy depicting nubile ladies faffing around (Strike Witches is a good example for moe-shit, flying loli girls who don’t wear any pants ftw). Though their popularity in the western market stems from the successful distribution of Afro Samurai, which was orientated for the western audience in the first place, not to mention that it featured Samuel Jackson as a VA, and every loves this cool guy.
The production also has a few venerable people within the anime sector too, Supervising Animator, Mama Yamaguchi, the one behind the famous comedy series; ‘Sergeant Frog’ will be lending a hand in production. Eiji Wakamatsu from Gundam 00 fame, will be directing the art and also Eriko Murata, who will be doing the colour styling.
Compared to the first, which had probably a budget of 1000 yen, I am please to see that they’ve upped their game in the anime department, mainly because the previous one just sucked, unsymmetrical eye type of suck.
